No fourth season of Avatar

At San Diego Comic Con in July, 2007 the Avatar creators confirmed that there will be no 4th avatar season. The animated series ends with the Fire book.
However, we fans can look forward to the feature films to be directed by M. Night Shyamalan (Manoj Nelliattu Shyamalan). Shyamalan and Paramount are planning three action filled movies. He will write, direct and produce the films. I only hope he wont mess it up as he did with his latest film “The Lady In the Water”

to whom it may concern there needs to be a 4th season to avatar. the reason for this is there is 4 elements water, earth, fire, and air. the last being air, aang needs to find the last of the air nomads living in hiding. just like in the book eragon the dwarfs lived in the mountains and they had mostly kept hidden. would it not be cool if that happened. see the avatar state should have ended with aang, but he was not killed when the fire nation supposely wiped out the air nomads but they did not so the avatar state knew that aang was alive in the iceberg and did not pass to the water tribe. so it is still possible for the air nomads to be alive and in hiding. there also needs to be a 5th season for when aang is grown and they are trying to rebuild the air temples and make peace for the other nations. we also need to se that the new avatar is born to take aangs place.

For the record, there doesn’t need to be a fourth season. The creators are wise in this decision because alot of the time, anime series drag on too long(i.e. Pokemon). However I agree with the idea of there being a scene or an episode with Aang all grown up. This is the only way to have a Kataang scene that would make more sense and make the audience more comfortable with the romance between the two.
As for the plans to make the movies, is it really necessary??? I mean we have the series which is far more easy to make and if Shamalan screws it up even just a little bit, our feel for Avatar will be tainted.

they are not going to end it in the middle of the story-line. there will be one more episode and then a four-part finale. soo the series WILL draw to a conclusion.

Far out, i fricken love avatar! ive gone through so much to get purchase on all the DVD’’s… there needs to be a fourth season! they can not leave it so open! and i know everybody wishes aang would just find a couple more air benders… maybe if they were in hiding or something?

i would reallly be cut deeply if they do just stop it in the midst of all the action. besides why would they, they would be making a reasonable amount money and to just throw it away would be stupid. the creators need to know that we all love avatar and its one of the only good anime around lately.

OMG got done watching the finale!! I agree with kristen, sorry guys but zuko asked about his mother and Katara and Aang never really had a moment to tell us they will be together all theyy did was kiss at the end. Im pretty sure that concludes this BUT HOW IN THE WORLD COULD THEY FREAKING END ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER!!!!! AHHHHH so u say they are going to make movies. It should be like Naruto, they had teh series, then they made the shippudun!!!!! THEY SHOULD MAKE VERSIONS WHERE THEY ARE ALL OLDER IT WOULD MAKE SENSE AND IT WOULD satisfy all of us disappointed fans. THEY SHOULDNT END IT EVER!!! theres no reason its just too good to end. BUT ANYWAYS WE NEED MORE PROOF OF KATAANG!! I MEAN WE ARE ALL DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY ENDED THE SERIES THEY SHOULD JUST MAKE MORE EPISODES UNTIL THEY ALL GET OLDER AND WE KNOW WHOS GONNA BE WITH WHO!! I would like that there to be an additional fourth book continuing with Aang and Katara, then following with Zuko’s mother I have always wondered about her from the very begining, and then with the renewed balance of All Four Nations Air, Water, Earth, and Fire… The creator’s did in fact leave the final too open ended I would have liked to a see a little more closeures with these particular characters. I do need to Say, Thank you Very Much for makeing these characters (people) come to life in my home and with my family. I do hope the Movies serve the series justice and are truely excellent! Please do your best when writing and creating!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps there will be some sort of “tying up loose ends” episodes. The writers/creators of Avatar obviously left some things undone (like Zuko’s family issues). Maybe the fans could get together and start a petition; let the powers that be know how wide and excited a fan base Avatar really has. Don’t misunderstand me; I do NOT want this series to go on FOREVER. Quality would certainly decline. But a fourth season seems logical and reasonable.
And I have to admit that I’m both excited and scared of the upcoming films. The series was nicely done and the action flowed gracefully; live-action probably won’t cut it. Besides, no one can be the characters but the actors who voiced them.

I think there should be a season 4. But! If goes any father than a 4th season, it might become like *gag* pokemon. But they should fill us in- what about Zuko’s mother? Yeah that is an issue. They can’t just have Zuko say, “what happened to my mother,” and then say “At San Diego Comic Con in July, 2007 the Avatar creators confirmed that there will be no 4th avatar season. I am a huge avater fan, and I think they should make a 4th season. After all they said in 2007 that there will be no more avatar after the 3rd book. Its almost 2009 and, they could change their minds. But whatever they do, I can make up my own personal ending in my mind 
Umm, that doesn’t cut it. Not for me at least. They can become crafty- like I think the “airbenders in hiding” is an “okay” idea. What about Toph? I think she should see her parents again - but dont leave the avatar gang (lol)! Just let her mend bridges, and help them see how she is a strong young woman. And dont forget the Zuko’s Mother thing. And what about Sokka??? HIS BOOMERA(A)NG (lol) SHOULD COME BACK!!! No seriously, I mean other than that there is not much to add on to. But . . . I do think Aang should get taller . . . after all he is like 3 inches shorter than Katara! And kisses her!!! Jk Jk, but I would like him taller.

In this wonderful and original series and there should be a fourth season. Not everything in the big avatar movie was concluded. We still don’t know anything about zuko’s mom
(weather shes alive or not). This show has been my favorite show for quite a long time and im not ready for it to end. I know the worlds all in peace but could they show an aftermath.
Like Anng all grown up and katara and him getting married and azula coming back for revenge or something. And zuko finally getting along with his father, now that his dads realized his evil ways and turned to good. And anng looking a little bit older than katara so it wont look like a 12 year old kissing a 14 year old anymore now that there all grown up.
SO FOR ME, THUMBS UP FOR A FOURTH SEASON, BECAUSE IN MY HEART ITS STILL NOT DONE.

I desperately want a fourth season. When people say that this has been a long show. There dead wrong. There only have been about 60 episodes in this series. You call that alot. Inyuasa has hundreds of episodes. I think this show has tons of more ideas to continue on with like what Vanessa said. Azula coming back for revenge and zuko’s dad becoming good and katara and Anng getting hitched. But when there like older. The information on zuko’s mom is still unknown and they should of welcomed her into the big movie but they didnt.

If this show is going to end in the third season, they should have a big special called the Aftermath of Avatar the Last air bender. Where they show them all grown up. Well they should have at least told us that it was going to be the last episode of avatar, instead of making us wonder like that and now we might not ever see it ever again.

I think this is the best show ever to air on nickelodeon. It has such great plots, twists, and turns and action. Tons of it. If sponge bob can last for eleven years than avatar can also continue but maybe because avatars like a soap opera and it continues on and on and that you have to see all of the episodes to understand the ending.

I hope they don’t mess up the avatar movies with different voices but without there voices I wont be able to see there original characters. Why cant they just use the same people? but one of the most important voices that they better not change in this series is zuko’s and Anng’s. There are already legendary by now

TO tell you the truth i think avatar is the best show ever to air on nickelodeon. Its better than this ICarly and Mighty B crap they think us kids will actually watch. I hope the creators of avatar will continue there work but I hope what there going to animate wont be too different from avatar that we’ll miss the old characters again. I want there new series of avatar to be just as interesting with lovable characters that you never want to forget about.
I don’t tolerate bad sequel series.

I’m alot nervous about the new series of the avatars next incarnation. But the next incarnation might end up as a water bender, so it might start off in the water tribe but what if they bend the rules a bit, well literally. They can make new elements like toph teaches her new style of medal bending a hundred years back and creates a new element and society for them. Like it should all be like new elements but not too too too new elements just add a little extra to it. But make it new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I love avatar. It shouldn’t end. We need more proof that aang and katara are going to end up together. What ever happened to zuko’s mother? I mean they left us hanging. Also, they can’t just end it. There needs to be a fourth season because it follows the balance. You can’t just have earth, fire, and water. You need air. It doesn’t balance out. This could possibly turn me OCD. I think we should make a petition and send it to the avatar creators. I mean they could be making money. Are they dumb?

there least to be some deleted scenes in the show because these questions will keep on coming till there answered why won’t you just tell us all. i have to say those kissing scenes between anag & katara made me sick and that was a stupid way to end the show . how should we know if azula won’t be back or her father hasn’t lost his bendering for good or will zuko ever find his mom and maybe turn azula from bad to good ori s there going to be a greater evil. all we want to know is where is azzula and zuko mom that all we want to know.

Hey,
There has to be a season 4!!! Both Azula and the Firelord are still alive, so they can escape and start a rebellion. Also the Firelord could trick the Sun Warriors to reteach him firebending. And remember the library in the desert, because they could seek intell in there on how to strike back. Meanwhile, they get loyal fire nation citizens to side with them because they believe Zuko is wrong
There is also the Dia Li and Long Fie in Ba Sing Se.
Also the nomads could still be alive in a remote area. So maybe Aang could find them based on information that he received.
Then with Zuko, ther can be an hour long movie in which he could search for his mother and run into some problems with loyalist firebenders.
Then in the end Azula and the Firelord can start another battle up and try to retake the throne and keep the war going.
Thats like eleven episodes right there

Actually on wikipedia it says that there will be another avatar series…but it will involve a reincarnation of the avatar which i think sucks :[ soooo sad that avatar is over…by far the best show ever… hopefully they will cancel that idea and continue the new avatar series with Aang and the gang…

I hope they continue this series. Not everything was explained. I just feel like something inside me is empty without this show. I hope they continue it.
I think that the characters are unique, suspenseful, and heart felt. But when they say that avatars a kid show. I don’t think that it completely true. The plots are kind of over complicated for 9 year olds. So i think that its mostly a teen show or maybe even adults.

I remember when I first saw this show. I didn’t see it from the very beginning. I started watching it when the episodes of “The drill” and “refugee” cane out in an hour special. And when I saw It i was amazed, so I wanted to watch it from the beginning and thats exactly what I did and here I am now. Talking about it!!!!

Did his friends ever get him out of Bai seng sai and he recovered from his wound?
Or did they all get captured by long feng and Jet slowly died?

I know the worlds all safe now but there is a chance that the fire lord can come back and rule again if he some how miraculously gets his fire bending back. And with azula.
I think she needs therapy becasue she has a lot of troubles in her life.
The only way she knows how to make people like her is by fear and she has no friends and she lost her nation, her mom resents her and everybody hates her.
I know shes the bad guy but the avatar helps people and he needs to help her alot.
You know if theres more episodes, which I doubt.

There really needs to be a 4th season. This is the greatest series ever and if it can make money, why stop it sooner? I just don’t understand! The 4th season needs to be about rebuilding the airbenders and to find Zuko’s mother. They can also include how the nations live in harmony now.
But really if you end it so soon then lots of people will be really let down.

I think there should be a fourth season because like people said they should let zuko find his mom and show them all grown up and Aang and katara should get married and have kids.zukko and mai should have kids, sokka and suki can have kids to.and azula and her father could become good or bad and try to take their throne back maybe with long fei and other villians,toph could find her parents again,also tai could come back,and they could find the people from the air temple becuase maybe they were hiding and then they can try to rebuild the air temple and all the damage the fire nation did on all nations.and if the aang gang have kids they can make a season with the kids going through a adventure but still show there parents to an have the new avatar as their friend.i just want this show to come back really bad and not end in a mystry.

There should of been a flashforward like two decades and see Aang and Katara with there first baby instead of just leaving us hanging I meen like Katara might not even love aang and what about zuko’s mom but I dont think they should make a fourth season but instead a new series that still includes the gang like maybe the water or earth nation becomes power hungry or something like that but the craders did say they were working on a new show

lol i don’t know the average age group that watches these series but i feel kinda old for watching and liking it. i’m 15 turning 16 in september. i really love these series. i think they’ll continue it. it’s the voices and emotion filled music in the series that make it so great. i mean in sozin’s comet at the end where aang and katara kissed. it started with this serene harp music but then as soon as their lips touched it turned into this full blown dramatic music. i know it sounds weird it’s just i’ve never heard music that could actually carry messages in it. it was really good. it’s usally the music in movies that make it great you know. i hope they continue the series. i kinda hate how zuko ended up with mei in the end.. they just don’t seem to match and it seems more like companionship and not love for zuko to be with mei. she just doesn’t understand him. oh and about the katara not loving aang. i think she does. maybe at first she didn’t cuz of the age but after sozin’s comet u can see that he’s much more mature mentally than u think he is. and she did kiss him back.

I do want a fourth season but it would also be interesting if there was a different avatar series that takes place in the future with another avatar maybe even another airbender (assuming they somehow come back).
Another option would be to make an avatar series about a past avatar even if they are unheard of. It could be about roku or even kyoshi and how she had to defeat chin the conquerer, not that different from aangs situation

I understand that a show with such an awesome plot as this had to come to a conclusion SOMETIME, but seriously… if there wasnt going to be a fourth season, why even HAVE the scene where Zuko asks where his mother is and not be resolved? Couldnt they spare us the letdown and edit it out? That makes no sense.

To the 15 yr old who said he felt old for watching and liking this show… I’m 28. No excuses like having kids of my own, etc. It’s just a good show. Can’t wait to get the DVD set… hopefully, they’ll tie up loose ends with deleted scenes.

for any one who has not seen the last episodes, then dont read any farther… SPOILERS
ok so truthfully, i’m split half and half. where they ended was good, no it was amazing, every one was happy, and zuko was with mai… sorry side tracked. anyways the fire lord was as good as done, so no worries there. everything was ended completely, (and nicely, i thought.) i would normally be totally content with the third season being the last. however there is one line in the last episode that does not allow me to totally happy with the end. when zuko enters his father’s cell he asks where his mother is..but we don’t get to know the answer.
thats line is enough for me to disregard what the producers said in comicon, and look forward for ( hopefully) a fourth season. the only thing i can see happening in the fourth season would be a bunch of filler chapters and zuko finding his mother all while cleaning up the world with anng. personally, i would not mind at all, if it was just a simple plot and bunch of fillers, because if you look back on all the other filler chapters, they are hilarious.

I thought the ending was really good, for the story line of ang, katara and the rest of them but zuko’s ending was aweful!! i want to know if he ever found his mother or not!! there needs to be a forth season, that sounds better than movies, although both wouldnt be that bad.

i think that is a bad way to end the series, i agree with who ever said editing out the zuko asking his father where his mother is scene! it just totally ruined the resolved and peaceful feeling i got at the end! I WOULD HAVE BECOME A MONK!!! if it werent for that scene, but they did put it in there, so i think they have to make a 4th season.
but it said THE END. so i doubt they will.

avataraddict has a po8int the new avatar could learn earth bending from the blind girl and water from katara and fire from zuko but where would he learn air from? Yeah…..Waht ever happened to jet. They never told us. But I have a feeling that jet died and so as the freedom fighters because they all never came back. I think that long feng and the dy lee maybe have killed them or jailed them. Who knows.

look i agree with what some of you guys are saying. although i would love for the creators to make another season(book4:air) it might not be nessasary. They should at least have an hour eposiode of what happened to who and if katara and aang stayed together.(but i really want katara and zuko together) so a i agree another season would be great, awesome actually but i would setttle for a 1 hour thing or maybe 2 hour thing to wrap up the show casue they left so much stuff uncovered. i mean what happend to azula and their mom. also we all know that jet died but we may be unsure so the freedom fighters can show up and tell the gang the story. just thinking of some ideas for the next season if their is one. hope the creataors are looking at what some of the fans are thinking.

I believe a new sequel or a new book should be made… alot of gaps and un answer question… The creator left a gap between Suko and his mother making an open case that probably another sequel could occur… Nevertheless, the question is wat happen 2 Suko sister and the king w/ the bear from the earth where the final battle was taken place… As witness in the middle of book 3… In conclusion good ending 4 book 3…

Though I would love to see a fourth season, just because Zukos mother is in question isnt enough of a story by itself. I think the big picture is whose Aang antagonist will be such as his epic journey to master all four elements to get to the fire lord. Not that a story couldn’t be created but this story would have to out do the last book, and it would have to be a villain that would rival Aang in power and even more so to make him a stronger hero someone he loves very much has to fall. Of course the story of the Avatar is one of the best cultural and message driven deep spiritual shows I have seen, but unless those things are in the next season then I don’t think they should tarnish the show.

If there isn’t a fourth season It would be cool if they do a two hour goodbye special to the show because avatars the most watched show on nickelodeon and they should let the fans know it going to be concluded. Im still thumbs up for a fourth season but its going to have to be a short season because there isn’t that much to write down for twenty one episodes when they have already defeated the fire lord and restored balance to the world.

Every single one of you is correct. When the last movie/episode aired and the big words THE END appeared after aang and katara kissed I was heart broken and I could’nt get over the fact that Avatar was finished. Some of you say the righters were right or wrong in their decision, but I personally think that the people that said they were right to end it are in fact stupid no offense. If their is four elements, four nation in which one of the elements thrives, then why is their ony three books on three of the four elemnts. If thr creators and wrters were so smart why did they make the huge mistake of making only three seasons. I mean come on, why did they just throw in the towel, they were making huge amounts of money and also satisfing all of us Avatar fans. What the creators need to get through there thick minded heads is that it’s not just about them it’s about us all of us. they need to know that their are hundreds of people like you and me who deeply love Avatar. They could be making even more money knowing that all of us would be watching Avatar. I’m sure you all saw Sozin’s Comet, it was a total masterpiece. At the end of it I fought back tears because it said THE END. Look I am just like all of you I don’t want Avatar to go on forever it just seems right to give it one good last season in which Zuko finds his mother, Aang finds the Air Nomads that went into hiding,and both aang and zuko rebuilding the world we also see the realationship of sokka and suki, zuko and mai and The best one Anng and Katara. I soon hope that the creators find our thoughts and rethink ending the serires how they did.

I agree that I would like there to be at least be a wrap-up episode if not another season. However, Alex, the reason that there were only three seasons and not four is because Aang had already mastered air before the series started, thus there was one book for each remaining element that Aang had to master. The creators don’t get it “through their thick heads” to tarnish a masterpiece at the whims of the audience. They have made Avatar such a great series thus far that I entrust that they will do the right thing with the future of the series (or lack thereof.)

they should make a fourth season and answer questions. i was talking to my friend about aangs new ability to spirit-bend. well if he can take bending away, couldn’t he give powers? so can’t he just spirit bend people some air bending and finally restore balance to the world? because a world with only 3 nations and there is supposed to be 4 is completely unbalanced. and it would make much sense. the fourth book about air, and it could be all about rebuilding the air nomads and restoring peace. and finding zukos mother. and toph being reunited with her parents. and jet. and i’d definitely like to see more blood bending. there is soooooo much potential for a 4th season.

I believe there should be one more series because they left some questions unanswered.One example of that is that Zuko had asked his father where his mother was and that was never answered. Another example is, are Sokka,Katara,and Toph going to go back to their homes or stay with Aang?I believe some of those questions deserve to be answered so us Avatar fans do not feel empty

Here are some summaries I wrote up for Avatar Book 4 Air -
Avatar the Last Airbender Book 4: Air
Chapter 1 - Knowledge
After Aang removes firelord ozei’s bending ability and Zuko becomes
Firelord the Aang Gang go in search for other air nomads they know
atleast some have had to take refuge among other nations such as the
Northern Water Tribe and the Earth Kingdom. Since Tophs Sand Bending has
gotten better they go to the spot where the Library sank. The owl
thretening to kill them Aang pleads to the owl telling him it that they
need this information or the world could be doomed! They all search the
Air Bending Archives and Found a Scroll that was writen at the beginning
of the attack on the Southern Air Temple it stated - “This is a message
that states there are still Airbenders alive even though the temple were
taken out. As we saw the Fire Benders coming we evacutated as many people
as we could on bisons. We are planning to land and take refuge in the
Earth Kingdom. And some of us train as dy lee agents to see what is going
on in the Earth Nation and if there is any clater about the war. When
this war is over travel to the lower class of the Earth Kingdom .”
Chapter 2 - Lost Friends
When they find this letter they rush out to go to the Earth Nation to
find the Airbenders. As they are heading to the Earth Kingdom they run
into the Earth King and he is also on his way to the Earth Kingdom due to
hearing about the end of the war. So they tell the Earth King the reason
why they are going back and he tells them the password for secret files.
On there way Sokkas messenger hawk returns and Toph gets a letter from
her mother saying they deeply miss here and regret not realising she
could fend for herself. Toph, being touched by the heart makes everyone
go and finds Tophs parents and she is greeted warmly with hugs and kisses
along with a feast. Proving helpful Tophs parents are able to get help
with the search do to their wealthyness and servants. After they get aid
Aang goes to the Earth Kingdom Archives where EVERYTHING that has to do
with the Earth Kingdom is saved. They finds records of Air Nomads
secretly blending in with refugees to keep Air Bending Alive. Once these
records are found they know there are Airbenders among the Kingdom and
they set of Searching.

also there just has 2 b more air nomads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bcuz when anng dies there wud b no more airbenders 2 teach the nxt water tribe avatar. it would b pretty stale 2 c appa or some other flying bison teach them, since we saw the dragons teach fire to anng and zuko. Also would ppl of 2 different tribes b able 2 have a baby? If so then i think the best way 2 go is anng and katara have a baby and anng would die and his baby would be of water tribe and have the water ability from mother and air from father. (they wouldnt have 2 show this but its a good idea) their child learns the other disciplines, and marries a earth bender, and they have a baby and the avatar dies, then that child learns fire since its in recent blood learned air, water and earth and all thats left is fire and the same thing as b4 happens. Causing a Ultimate avatar that has the arts in its heredity blood and past experiences from avatars in its family.
and also i mean for each avatar 2 die b4 the child is born so the soul can b reincarnated. (how weird would it b 2 give birth 2 your husband technically
)
(if my idea isnt agreed upon then the simple solution of sozin destroyed the avatar state when he destroyed the balance of the universe is available since he wiped out a whole discipline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Once again this post acts as my signature in the petition of the needs of book 4. Too many unanswered questions: Azula and Firelord Ozai are in prision but for those 2 super evils, are they actually going to stay there? Queen Ursa’s whereabout had been mentioned alot in book 3, and it needs to be solve one way or another. Whatever happened to Jet? The last scence of his was back in Dai Li’s headquarter, and it also left off as a puzzle. How will Zuko actually going to “regain the Firenation’s honor”? How will Aang heal the scared world? How will his relationship with Katara evolve? Beside, the reincarnation of the Avatars had went on for hundreds and hundreds of years, that means the world is a troublesome/chaotic, with warmongers, evil spirits, natural disasters, etc, that destroy the balance. The Avatars should never run out of jobs, therefore book 4 could also incorporate new adventures of such nature. One more thing is that the 3 movies do not come up until 2010. If they want the fans to go see those movies, they must keep the Avatar’s story alive for the next 2 years. They wouldn’t want to let the series die out and come back with the movies. (or would they?)

airbending boy, yeah i liked it i wanted 2 say it yesterday but i got sleepy and was going 2 do in the morning but had stuff 2 do.
it would be nice 2 c azula come back from the mental treatment and find out that people like her for who she is and not that she is liked only for her bending. she could join zuko as his adviser or have a dual reign or work with iroh in the tea shop.
i dont think jet is dead but at the same time i do but it would be nice to c him alive and with a sane azula maybe.
on wikipedia they say the creators made a scene but took it out where zuko finds his mother. if i can find the link again i’ll post it.
on second thought i think every1 loves an evil azula because it would be intresting since she has the same war in her as zuko; one sibling good the other bad or both good

I dont believe that there wont be a fourth season. The whole show was about returning balance to the world, there would have to be balance with the seasons. There will be a fourth season, Im willing to bet my bottom dollar. One of tha last scenes in the last episode was Zuko talking to his father about where his mother was. The season wouldnt end it that open ended. They wouldnt have even put that scene plus the previous scenes showing Zukos affection for his lost mother and same back.
This is just an idea, but Book 4 would be about Air, right? So I think that there was a hidden air temple that nobody knew about that survived Sozin only because it was secret and the only people that knew of it were monks that died. I think that the whole next season will be about Aang recieving knowledge of this air temple and setting off to find it and also about Zuko finding his mother. I think that Book 4 would be put in the future to where Aang and Katara are together and maybe even have a family, but not too old. Katara’s confict with her father leaving to go to war will become reality with Aang too, only he would be setting out to what could be a very dangerous journey trying to find the secret air temple and he would have to leave his family doing so. I think that Zuko finding his mother will have something to do with Aang looking for this airtemple, and maybe even his mother being with tha air temple.
Just a thought though, (:.

more than likely there is going to be another season, the main reason the said there wasnt going to be another, is for suspence, i mean look at all the people freaking out, i can gaurantee that when the buzz of the avatar is at its peek, they will announce another season,, its marketing, everybody does it,,, and there probably going to make the most income at that point… so all you people dont need to worry

I love avatar and i deffinatley think that they should make a fourth season! its possible that Katara and Aang could have a baby that isnt a airbender but if they dont have a airbender then the world would fall out of balance. There are alot of holes that need to be filled and i cant imagine a life without avatar! I dont like the idea of a movie because you just cant replace any of the characters voices! There are sooo many loose ends that need to be tied. For instance the fact that Katara didn’t forgive the man who killed her mother yet Aang said, “forgivness is the first step in healing” Another thing is where is Zuco’s mother? No crack pot theores I want evidence! Also in the missing adds where are Sokka’s boomerang and space sword? And what of Uncle’s journy(s) into the spirite word? Are Toph’s parents still looking for her? Seriously theyv’e got to be wondering where the heck she is!

I dont think that there will be a fourth season even though I would want nothing more than to have one. Never in any other season have they ever said “The End” and they have said that this season. There were so many holes that need to be filled but what can we do? Were just thousands and thousands of Avatar fans i do think that the sighing of that petition thing is a good idea though i just dont know if the creators will look at it. For all of those people who are writing letters to the creators i wish you luck because i really want a fourth season! By the way as for my name goes i really am the biggest Sokka fan lol and i wrote the comment that was by Avatar girl too.

wow im watching Avatar right now!!! lol i love the creators but comon!! whats wrong with them dont they realize that they will be losing half their fans if they wait too long to do more with Avatar? Honestly I think it’s a legal issue with nick and who ever else is involved to end it at season 3. I would love to have cartoon network take over the Avatar show and continue it with a bit more mature sense.

I like to think of the avatar series as the Halo or Dragonball series. Avatar is similar to both the series because of its fan base. Fans of the Dragonball series asked for more episodes and more seasons. The results being both good and bad. Dragonball Z was a success, but GT was a failure. Z should have been the end of the series, but fans pushing for another season resulted in GT. GT ruined everything that Z added to the series. I believe that a season 4 (maybe a 5th season) of Avatar would be like the Dragonball “Z seasons”. A season 4 would add onto the series, make it more popular, but not ruin it. The higher ups at Bungie and Microsoft realized all the money that would be brought in as a result of continuing the Halo franchize and capitalized on it. In Halo’s case, there will most likely not be a Halo 4, but there will be many “spin offs”. These include Halo Wars and Halo ODST. Not only will these continue to increase Bungie’s (and all other companies involved) revenue, but will increase it’s fan base which will result in the purchasing of more XBOX 360s to buy the game. I believe that Nickalodean will realize what Microsoft did and understand the importance of keeping a great series alive. But as Firas said above me, it may be a legal issue. There is alot more to be added to the series and i hope the creators of Avatar realize this.
P.S- Firas, i would also love for cartoon network to take over the series and make it a bit more mature.

For the 4th season they should go 8 years in the future. The main problem should be that Azula and Ozai break out of prison and start a rebelion. Ozai should also get a dark “shadow bending” power. The whole gang (Sokka, Aang, Katara, Suki, and Toph) go to the fire nation to protect the firelord, Zuko. When they get there, they find Zuko, Mae, and Zuko’s mother killed. After that Aang vows to do what he should have done 8 years ago, kill Ozai.

If they don’t continue the tv series, maybe they’ll make a mega-sweet video game. I own all 3 games on both the DS and Wii and -not to be mean- they all suck. I think they sould make it like The Legend Of Zelda game series. Or maybe Okami. You could make the same game playable with all the main characters. (one player only please) IThe 3 games would have made for an amazing RPG/action/adventure series if it had better graphics, music, plot, and controls.

there should be one last season. it doesn’t have to be long. (5 eps maybe?) so many questions were left in the air!
where was zuko’s mother?
did he find her?
what of the air nomads? without them the chain in the avatar resections would be broken, so were there survivors? or will anng and katrara repopulate the air nomads?
how did toph’s parents react to her coming back? (it’s pointless but still i’d love to see it)
what about azula? yes she was bad but the mare fact that she was so shaken up by betrayal and was seeing hallucinations of her mother saying she loves her shows that azula really missed her mother and wanted to be accepted by her.
what about ty lee and the other girl (i forgot her name)
there are a few other questions that should be answered to but i can’t recall them at the moment. THEY NEED ONE MORE SEASON! with at LEAST one ep where a time skip occurs (20 years is good)

I love avatar and i wish thatthey would come up with new show at least avatar the next generation. I think avatar should keep going, what happens to zukos mother, do Aang and Katara End up together? i have a few ideas for a few episodes.
Book 4:Blood(Katara Based Season)
Episode 1: Old Bloodbender breaks out of jail and goes after katara
Episode 2: Katara And Aang Are Kidnapped leaving sokka to find them
Ep 3: sokka finds them and gets hurt badly
ep 4: Katara And Aang And Sokka Flee, Katara Begins To Practice Blood Bending To Defeat Old Woman
Ect. Thatd be a good story plot, and if not that make Book 4 about Air, maybe there are hidden nomads, or aang can figure out a way to recreate wind, or there can be a time skip? aang and katara have achild, and Ice Bender (Air+Water= Ice) Book 4 Could Be Ice. There Are Alot Of Things They Could Do, I Just Want To Figure Out What Happened.

Dear Avatar “Writer”,
You should definetly write a fourth series. But it would be all messed up. Only I would understand why though. :/ There’s only three journals of how aang acomplished his journeys. He learned Water, Earth, and Fire. He already knows Air so how would the last one be air. All the Air Nomads are dead, and you can’t bring them back from the dead. There are only 3 journals, and there couldn’t be another one. It’s impossible and if he wrote one it wouldn’t make sence. (no offence there) And I’m very scared of the movie coming out in 2010, I mean it has real people and all the graphics will be hard. But good luck anyways. :)Plus Aang and Katara are meant to be, they complete eachother in a shy way. Zuko and Mai are cute too though. No Katara and Zuko, yuck… :p

At first i was really excited about the new avatar movie ive watched all 3 seasons in the last four days! long live summer. But then i heard that Shyamalan was going to direct it and my heart fell to the floor.
now dont get me wrong he has made some decent movies but the last few that he has made have been mis advertised almost to the point of being deceiteful and though i have’nt seen it myself i have heard plenty of bad things about the happening. I dont know what to expect with the movie but i dont really have very high hopes! From what i saw from the trailer i wasnt impressed. It seemed like aang was way to serious for how happy he really is suppose to be and forgive me for being to critical but his form was sloppy i could almost picture the beverly hill ninja doing the same routine! lol hopefully shyamalan dosnt kill poor Aang because im pretty sure that Katara cant revive him this time :D! little inside joke. i think you guys get what im saying though.

while I do like both zuko and katara and they do look good together, it is mostly because they’re older and it looks normal. Yeah ang is kind of young at 12 but it also makes it unique instead of an older hunky hero its just about two people who care about each other and is a good way of pointing out that all couples arent the same. besides mai and zuko are kind of sweet and even though she seems kind of angsty she is a young teenager and everyones weird in their teens. Either way aang wont be twelve forever and one day when katara is 23 and ang is 21 it wont seem so weird.
And yeah the zuko’s mom mystery was frustrating but a good series knows to quit when theyre ahead. while seeing the characters again would be nice the story the series was made about has been told and the bunch of them going on a bunch of sidequests with no particular plot looks like a bad attempt to resurect something that can be sold and takes away the charm. Not getting the answers to everything would take away some of the appeal that makes it so big. For example SquareEnix screwed up big time by bringing up the FFVII market again. FFVII had a lot of firsts and uniquness that made it so popular and not telling the conclusion at the end left alot of speculation and hype over what ended up happening and was part of the appeal. so then they made a movie that took place two years later that was while enjoyable to watch didnt really go anywhere with the story and was for the most part a huge disapointment in what people imagined would happened. on the plus side it let people view cloud and sephiroth fighting in cgi. but then they started maknig sequels, prequels, etc for this one game and basically selling out because they know people would by and ruining a good thing by seeing how far they could stretch it (again like pokemon) last i checked they have a sequel game where they screwed up a main character and a boss from the original game wasnt really dead because he uploaded his soul to the internet… never mind that all the films of today are sequels or remakes and if they make something new and good they follow it up with 3+ crappy sequels. Avatar is a well written and thouroughly thought out piece of work, which in todays lazy imaginless all stereotypical logic generation is rare.
long story short if you didnt want to read all of the above, I dont want them to bring back avatar just for the sake of seeing the characters again because they could just ruin an excellent series with something like pointless plots and souls being uploaded to the internet…

I’ve seen alot of repeating comments so I won’t try to reapeat them hopefully. But I think that there should at least an air season (Even if its just a simple hour episode or two BTW Futurama’s whole fourth season was/were it’s four movies) with an episode to explain the cliffhangers they left behind. (EX: Zuko’s mom/How can the avatar state go on if there are no more air nomads?/The face stealer guy meeting Aanag again/ Did peace really come?/ and many other small things.)
P.S. That part in there about the Avatar state really concerns me. I mean it travels through all four elements but if there are not any more air nomads does it still go and just skip air? and if Aang is the last then how can futre avatars (if there are any) learn air bending? Or maybe Aang is not only the last air bender but also the last avatar. But I am pretty sure we will never find out since they (the creatirs) are done with it (aside from the movies).

Just make another series, answer the questions that were left and allow some closure for people to better understand. This whole mystery thing is getting to be over rated! Well just a couple of things i wanna get round to saying
Avatar in my opinion was the greatest show EVER!
And i have to admit the day it finished i felt ok but the next day it hit me hard
I was so heartbroken and torn that there wasnt gonna be a 4th season

I deeply hurt that they aren’t making a fourth season when their is so much yet to show.
1) Everyone out of their teenage years! Grown up! (maybe early twenties)
2) Avatar finding his poeple.
3) Us finding out more about the air culture and where Aang really came from in details.
4) Zuko looking for his mother.
5) Azula and Ozai have to be riden of. (Azula is still a serious threat)
6) Toph finding romance.
These are the main ideas; but it could be easily make tons of episodes.
Avatar can find his people: but they can be imprisoned by a new enemy, a fire general who could take matters into his own hands after he finds out Ozai has failed.
The season can be Avatar fighting for his people, the air nomads.
Although I think the reason why the writers don’t want to make more is they don’t think the ending of “season four” can compete with the third season.

They really should make more of the avatar series. Look at the money they brought in, and all the fans they now have!! It would give them as much as it would give us!! I wish they would take the money from making the film and use it to make a season 4. A season has about 20 chapters, and each chapter is 24 minutes long so that would be 8 hours of avatar, versus 1 hour and 30 mins from a movie!! Even 1/2 of that would be nice. My favorite cartoon show has, and always will be Avatar.

I think there should be a season 4 of avatar the last airbender because what happened to zuko’s mother what happens to katara, sokka , toph, and aang. I think that zuko the new fire lord and aang the avatar and the rest of the gang should go on alot of adventures together. I also think that they group can all become royalty and should all become members of the white lotus and Hama and combusken man can start some kind of partenership to capture the gang. There should also be another atemp by azula to become the pheonix Queen and she is secretly working with her father. I personaly think that there should not be another avatar but I do think that aang and katara should get married and have kids,and the gang including zuko should be best men and brides mates. I think that when aang and katara get married they should have one son that will later on become the next avatar in season 6. While aang and the rest of the gang is teaching him the elements.

Personally, I hope there will be a book 4, book of air. The whole series was based around the idea of “balance in the world” well, there is a major group missing for that. The airbenders were wiped out, so Aang is going to have to restore that nation somehow or the world will never be balanced. So, personally, I’d start off book for, with Zuko trying to find his mother, and Aang, who hears about a group of Airbenders who’ve survived (Or heck, finds people with the aptitude to become airbenders, so he trains them), starting out on a quest to find them, and restore the forth nation.
If they don’t end it that, way, then the story will forever see the universe it spawned forever out of balance. After all, when Aang dies, no more airbenders. No more balance, and eventually no more Avatars because he can’t be reborn into them.

Concerning a new season, it’s pretty unlikely.
Even with plot lines still unwrapped, mainly the whereabouts of Zuko’s mother, the main story of the series has ended regardless of anything else. Aang learned all four elements (he already knew airbending and learned the other three in each season, hence the name of each book), and restored balance to the world with the ending of the War due to Ozai’s defeat.
To be honest, the movies may or may not be good, but it doesn’t really matter because they aren’t anything new since every movie will be just of each season, not creating a new story. We’ll basically be seeing each season in live-action and in shortened time.
The movies, however, will be helpful. If the movies do good, the demand for continuation of the TV series, with or without a new storyline, will increase dramatically. However, if the movies tank, that may inspire the creators to go back to TV to keep the franchise in good terms.
Plus, I wouldn’t even doubt that they are making a new series. It’s been just over a year since the last episodes, which really isn’t a long time. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an announcement about a new Avatar series or a continuation of it alongside the first Airbender movie. Plus, the unaired pilot episode of the series wasn’t followed by the actual first episode of Avatar until two years later, so maybe we’ll see the same trend. The last episode of the original series in 2008 could be followed by the first in the new series in 2010.

Incase El Oh El see’s my comment just wanted to say something about his post. Although Aang mastered all four elements the story still has a major part in that the avatar’s will CEASE to exist if more airbenders aren’t created. That in itself is one of the biggest reasons why the plot of the story isn’t exactly finished.
I highly doubt they’re making another season though because he seems to be focusing all of his energy in the movies, which i don’t think will be a great sucess.
Avatar is an anime! If they can pull it off with real people..then good for them, i’d be really surprised. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Why would we want to watch the whole thing over again with actors that don’t have the same voices from the series? And hello??? It’s anime, right? …hmmph I seriously am not happy with the casting for the film…it’s all so wrong…in my opinion (especially Zuko!)…I’m really excited for the film to come out but I’m also scared that I’ll end up dissapointed!…:( well best I can do is hope for the film to be great…and for a fourth season!!!…I’m effing dying to find out about Zuko’s mom…and what the hell happened to Azula???…

… why no fourth season? it could be like an epilogue or something… the last part of Sozin’s comet left us with a cliff hanger that will never be satisfied, “Where is my mother” Zuko said and then it cuts off before his father’s reply. What about the new avatar? shouldn’t we know what he/she looks like? What about the rebuilding of the world and the fire nation groups that hold their ground? just because aang defeated the fire lord doesn’t mean they’re all going to give up. there are people that will want to avenge him. also, Azula, she’s a friggen psycho! i wanna know what happened with her!

anyway ill get to the point considering all those reasons i think that there definatly should be a final season to find the airbenders and that would end it
including all the stuff mentioned above
though it would be hard 2 compete with that 4 part finale which was DAM GOOD
all in all ive spoke wat i wanted 2 say.
Please keep posting i lv 2 read things that people who feal the same way as i have said.

I really hope they make another season it’s been ages since it ended and I still watch it over and over and I’m not tired of it!…there’s so much they could do if they make another season plus they’d make loads of cash. and of course the creators would please thousands (or maybe millions)of avatar fans out there!!!
one more thing i’m addicted to avatar!always have been and always will be

avatar is one of the best shows on tv!and what fan wouldn’t be sad for it to end…well I know I’m sad and angry that they’re not going to continue it!

also all my friends who i know have watched avatar have all been sad and angry wen it ended. its a fact after watching the message ” THE END” that ur giong to be sad. i sure know i felt sad.

oh well since there’s no sign of a fourth season of avatar I guess I’ll just have to fantasize in my head of what could happen :/
by the way a guy who loves avatar, nope I’m not saying that azula’s hot…cuz I’m a girl…I just like her as character cuz of the fact that she’s really evil and gets away with almost everything.

Dont give up yet like el oh el said a couple of messages above they could come back l8r with a new series. though what nobody ever realises that the vioces of all the charecters will most definatly b different
also firelord, i would think a good fourth season enemt would be azula but shes a bit…… CrAzY , though she can be really funny like that episode where she was all cool with the guy and then after the kiss she said WE WILL BE THE MOST POWERFULL COUPLE IN THE FIRE NATION MWAHAHA. And the guy is like………ooooooookkkkkkkkk….
though i think ozai and her would be a good enemy.
ps. azula is mad but not that bad looking. lol sorry if anybody out their is alienated about that

tbh i agree with quite a few people here: they should make an episode/ scene or whatever where they r grown up and some questions are answered etc however if they continue it i think THEN they should just make it a next generation where aang has rebuild the air bending tribe and taught new ones and now there is a new avatar and other characters etc. it sucks ass that they r too lazy to put the work in to make a second series. and yes people are right: the naruto series was rly good, the movies SUCKED ASS so there is no point of an avatar movie, and shippuden was great. therefore, the avatar series was good, if they make movies they will suck and they should have continued with a second series like shippuden which would have been amazing but no they are lazy little gays and want to make queer movies called ‘the lady on the water’ :Z

and most likely the films 2. The guy that plays zuko is the guy that played the main guy (Jamal) in slumdog millionaire. not saying hes a bad actor but 2 be honest he doesnt really look like zuko. Also the air nomads arrow on the fore thing is a bit weird as it looks more like a tatoo then paint. i dont know but i think paint would be good 2 draw the arrow. Katara looks a bit different but shes not bad and Sokka looks the part but his voice is something the director cant change, ignoring these small details the film might actually not suck. But im mot getting my hopes up as the DBZ movie wasnt great. but hopefully the movie will be fine

I’m not holding my breath for a 4th season- as much as I would like it. There are a ton of loose ends still, and it drives me crazy wondering about the future of airbending. Are more airbenders going to be born or is Aang really the last one? and how are future Avatars going to learn airbending? also, if Aang and Katara were to have kids… would they be air or water benders? And so on.

2) The Rebuilding Of The Earth Kingdom
3) Making Peace Into The World
4) The Gang Travels Around The World (Hakoda,Pipsquekee,etc.)
5) Katara Find Another Waterbender From The South Pole
6) Aang Finds The Other Air Nomads
7) Some Extra Stuff Too

Alright, I’ve been a huge avatar fan since the show came out!! This show is creative, funny, and it teaches kids today lessons that are important in life (i.e. “violence is never the answer” & “to trust your instincts” & “sometimes it is harder to do the right thing”). Children that I babysit would rather watch an amazing show like this instead of silly pointless programs such as spongebob and iCarly.
However, I think that the most they should do is a fourth season (an air book). There is plenty of unanswered questions to give the show some depth..but, I do not think that the show should continue through that. One of the main themes in the show is balance. Well, how can there be balance with an odd number of books? I believe that adding a fourth book would be a smart thing to do for the series. Fans would be happy & appreciative, while the creators and writers would be making more money.
We as fans should try to voice our opinions as best we can to the creators and writers of Avatar..that is the best we can do. Because in the end, we know that they make the ultimate decision.. and with that, I would like to say please, please, PLEASE make a fourth season!! Allow the characters grow up a little..Zuko’s quest to find his mom (and his family problems in general) is a major issue. Aang, Katara, Sakka, Suki, Toph and their journeys to find the surviving air nomads .. There is also bound to be some prejudice amongst the four nations so, stories can be created and episodes can be made!!
Please, if anyone of importance reads this, reconsider your decision of making a fourth season of Avatar!! -Thank You.

i know its a very sad fealing when it finishes.
But i honestly think ive gotten over it.
took a month but im over it
Look the way i did it was to look at the facts.
1. There will always be a possible continuation of avatar. the way they left it to end practicly sets up a new season
2. There are other animes and shows, for example im watchin about 4 at the mo, Pokemon from the start (which is surprisingly good),yu gi oh, beyblade and im considering watchin naruto
3. Dont 4get about the live action film. sure its not a new season BUT its better then nothing
4. Real life series helps eg: heroes, merlin. stuff like that
5. Games consoles are pretty helpfull 2 as games distract u.
6. Books lol, i know most books suck but there are some good ones eg the twilight series. Im a boy and i like them
The above are just some things that helped me. Hope this helps any heartbroken Avatar fans out there. Im also sorry if this was a load of bollocks 4 some people.

Why would there be no more Avatar episodes or seasons? pClark is right–there are four elements and only 3 books. The last season should be air and all about the air nomads and maybe Aang will find out that not all the air nomads are dead–maybe one became an earth bender, water bender, or fire bender. If not, why not another season where the earth kingdom slowly turns on the Avatar and his troup (Zuko, Katara, Sokka, Suki, Mai, Ty Lee, Iroh, the Kyoshi Warriors, maybe?) because of something–anything they did? Or what about the Water/earth tribes/kingdoms beginning to fall?
Hey, if you creators run out of ideas for a new season and that’s the reason why you’re stopping, don’t hesitate to ask fans for ideas.

this is pretty late and you might never get to see it, but we did see Zuko’s mother. remember the episode where Azula is preparing for her coronation of becoming the fire lord (fire season, towards the end) when Azula cuts her hair and her dead mother appears in the mirror and makes azula angry and stuff? it’s also Zuko’s mother. apparently her favorite child is Zuko, as revealed in the episode “The Beach”, but she still says she loves azula when azula thinks she hates her.
also, if any avatar creators sees this: (a few ideas for more episodes of Avatar)
1. If we ever get to this part: Why not see the scene where Zuko and Mai marry?
2. Will Ty Lee stop crushing on Sokka and find a new love?
3. Fall of the Water Tribes: Katara losing her water-bending and so does every other water bender–is that an advantage for any of the other nations, and perhaps, the Phoenix King?
4. DEFINITELY THIS: Zuko finding his mother, even though she’s dead, probably.
5. Somehow dead people’s spirits get revived and Katara and Sokka’s mother finds her way to the family? Zuko’s mother coming back to Zuko?
6. Remember when Katara chains Azula in the final episode Avatar Aang? Well, what about someone finding Azula and setting her free? And since Azula still has her bending, she’ll come back to her fire powers, try to become Fire Nation Princess again. And trying to find her old friends Mai and Ty Lee.
Just some wacky ideas. I hope they will inspire anyone to go as far as they possibly can with these ideas.

i like your ideas about the waterbenders losing there abilities, its just it would be too complicated.
though apart from that there cool.
i got an idea
ofcourse air nomads are hiding but what if in hiding they develope a revengefull side. so they put there peacefull methods aside and use another great comet to take revenge on the fire nation. this would leave aang to choose between his own people and peace, would be interesting AND when aang succeeds in stopping the air nomads, this would surely unite all nations thus bringing peace to the world.

what if there was a remote region un explored by every one which consisted of new kinds of benders and new lands and the new enemy could be a guy trying to learn all the elements and make his own verson of the avatar state and it could be called avatar new world which could be a spin off as well and probably be a time skip too and some old characters could return and ive seen the previews of the movie and i think it may suck

Watcing Avatar is our form of spending family time together. We were all really sad to find out that there is no fourth season, and we wish there was more. Since there is still a lot of possibilities were the story ends, I wish it will be reconsider, we want more.
